From Mosh to Matrimony…

It was love at first mosh… In the sweaty, chaotic swirl of a mosh pit at a surf rock show at The Casbah in San Diego, we found each other. Tyler spotted Carissa and threw her into the crowd, and somehow, as if by fate or some wild twist of physics, she bounced right back into his arms. From that electric moment, we quickly became each other's favorite person, adventure buddy, and best friend. Life together has been filled with unforgettable adventures from surfing, skiing, hiking, biking, road-tripping to making memories with our friends & family. We feel so lucky to have the most amazing community that has supported us along the way and embarked on so many of these adventures with us.

Fast forward to November of 2024, in our favorite place, Playa La Saladita, Mexico, Tyler pulled off a surprise proposal after months of sneaky planning. We celebrated barefoot in the sand, catching waves and soaking in the moment. It was perfect. We’ve never taken life too seriously, and maybe that’s our secret. Just two weirdos in love, choosing laughter, adventure, and each other, again and again. Cheers to wherever this ride as husband & wife takes us next!

Just Married!

On September 12, 2025, we eloped in the mountains along our favorite backpacking trail in Sequoia National Park. We chose to tie the knot in a way that felt peaceful, intentional, and true to who we are. The ceremony began in a soft cloud on a rock overlook at the High Sierra Camp, where we could feel the presence of all our loved ones surrounding us. Our best friend and officiant, Colin, beautifully wove meaningful messages from our parents into his words, reflecting on our partnership and the deep connections we share with each other and with those who mean the most to us. From near and far, we felt so much love and affirmation, especially knowing our parents were with us in that sacred moment.

As we exchanged our vows, the clouds parted to reveal the most breathtaking sunset spilling across the granite peaks and valley below. The light was golden and alive, wrapping us in stillness and awe. It felt as if the world paused just for us, two souls grounding into forever.

Colin’s girlfriend, Mariah, was our witness, photographer, flower girl, and decorator all in one and we couldn’t have asked for a more loving presence. Alongside her, two fellow campers, Christian and Gerardo, happened upon our ceremony as if by fate. They celebrated with us and captured some magnificent photos of the ceremony for us. We shared our first dance as the clouds rolled back in over the vista. Our reception consisted of a warm camp meal around twinkle lights followed by dehydrated dessert and stargazing through the sequoias.

The next day, we set out on a day hike to Hamilton Lake and somehow had it all to ourselves. We stopped by a waterfall along the way and spent the afternoon fishing for trout. The trail wound along steep cliffs with incredible views of the granite peaks across the valley. Tyler and I have marveled at this stretch of the trail and how beautiful it is and sharing it with our friends made it even better.

There were signs everywhere that our loved ones were with us from a hawk circling above, a gentle doe lingering near the bouquet at camp, a hummingbird that nearly hit Tyler’s head, and butterflies guiding our path along the trail. The Gray family has always believed in these quiet symbols from nature as signs of protection, love or visits from past loved ones. That day, they felt like love notes from beyond, whispers of encouragement, reminding us that we were and will be surrounded by love, in every form it takes, no matter where we may be in the world.

It was beyond perfect, magical even, and utterly unforgettable. A moment where love, nature, and fate aligned just for us. The 30+ miles we hiked were more than a journey to a place; they were a promise. To keep showing up, step after step, through every cloud and clearing, trusting that the path ahead will always lead us somewhere extraordinary.
